Community Garden

Our new community garden features many vegetables and was conceived of as a way of being out more within the community. While we initially discussed partnering with the Judges Row Block Club, the members had some concerns about the layout and safety of the garden, and so the church members decided to create the garden as a ministry of the church.

The design of our garden is in the shape of a cross. The “head” of the cross contains zucchini and yellow squash. The two “arms” of the cross have been planted with tomatoes (roma and grape/cherry). The “foot” of the cross contains peppers, onions, and various herbs. Our hope is to use the bounteous harvest of our garden to make jars of salsa and host a community meal at which we can serve it.
