Mission & Outreach
St. Michael & All Angels uses mission and outreach funds to support the following ministries:
The Belle Center
The Belle Center offers innovative, educational, social and community building services for children, youth, senior citizens and families living in Western New York. Programs are focused on the principles of learning, togetherness, love and helping.
Buffalo City Mission
The Buffalo City Mission exists to restore hope and dignity to the hurting and homeless through the transforming grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. The goal is to help men, women and children overcome homelessness and find a path to better lives.
Buffalo Public School 82
Public School 82 is one of our neighborhood schools and is the primary recipient of the items donated for our Mitten Tree (see below). In addition, we often help to fill their supplies of clothing for all times of the year.
Camp Duffield
Camp Duffield is a 137-acre campground that serves as a camp, conference center and retreat space, where a supportive Christian environment is promoted, which helps to foster imaginations, life skills and community.
FeedMore WNY
FeedMore WNY offers dignity, hope and a brighter future by providing nutritious food, friendship and skills training to its Western New York neighbors in need. Through its food bank distribution center and partner hunger-relief agencies, as well as a home-delivered meal program and other targeted feeding programs, FeedMore WNY alleviates hunger and assists community members of all ages throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties.
Friends of Night People
Friends of Night People helps the poor, homeless and destitute in Buffalo, New York, by providing food, clothing, medical care, counseling and hope to those in need. Through Friends of Night People, help is available to those experiencing homelessness and poverty in our community 365 days a year.
St. Aloysius’ Food Pantry
St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy
St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy strives to meet the needs of food, clothing, shelter and basic necessities, and care for the poor and abandoned in our community by carrying out the Works of Mercy. The Dining Room and Sandwich Ministry provide over 8400 meals a week. Over 100 families are helped with clothing and household items each week. Shelter is provided for over 100 people each week. Each week, the baby room provides necessary items for over 100 families with infants and toddlers.
Mitten Tree
Every November we welcome a “Mitten Tree” put up in the Church for the express purpose of decorating it with new, knitted items (mittens, hats, socks, gloves, caps, and the like). All donations are later distributed to children and tiny tots who are in need and, usually, just in time for Christmas and the cold weather ahead.
